Sam Durant learned to cook shrimp jambalaya, hamburgers, chicken alfredo, and fried chicken from his parents, David and Kay Durant. These family meals were a staple growing up and sparked his love for cooking.

The First Methodist Church welcomed May with a churchwide Picnic at the Park on May 1, at Northside Park and Imagination Fun Station. Everyone was invited to come and bring a friend, a finger food, and a lawn chair. Hamburgers and hot dogs were served.
