Congratulations to Steve and Linda Murray who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with a party for family, extended family, and neighbors.

Their 12-year-old grandson, Charlie, said a beautiful prayer, Grandson Bo provided the music with songs Steve and Linda had chosen, and Grandson Bud made a video of photos of Maw and Pawpaw throughout their marriage. It was a perfect evening for the couple to share memories as well as happy tears. Their youngest grands were party crashers ( Kaya and Jameson) who provided more entertainment!

The bride and groom's cakes which were served were replicas of those from the reception 50 years ago and were made by a friend. They were perfect. Congratulations and best wishes for many more happy years together!

The gym at Neshoba Central was once again transformed into a magic fairyland where princes, princesses, knights, and other fairy tale characters enjoyed the annual Fairy Tale Ball for kindergarten students.

It was a fun event that had many parents attending as well as some grandparents. There was a grand entrance led by a Princess (Shannon Harrison Posey) in a yellow gown, gloves, and crown who entered through a door decorated with balloons followed by the children in their costumes.

The children had many activities from which to choose such as dancing in groups, making frames, and other inviting projects. There was a white wicker loveseat with a gleaming backdrop for taking pictures to remember the event. Refreshments were served and eaten with pleasure. The teachers, aides, and volunteers worked very hard to make this a successful “Once Upon a Time” for their students.

Brian and Lydia Whitaker Berry had an excellent reason for visiting Las Vegas last Friday. Their son, Ross, graduated from Airman Leadership School. He was in the top 10% of his class of 79 in academics.

His class won Honor Flight which indicates that they exceeded in everything as a class compared to the other classes. He was voted by his classmates for the Commandant Award which is presented to the student who, in their Commandant’s judgment, made the most significant contribution to the overall success of the class. It was an honor to be nominated for this award although he did not win it. Congratulations!
