Funeral Services for Victor Uhl Payne will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Justin Craft, Dr. Mike Carr and Bro. Tom McCurley officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church and on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Trinity Baptist Church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Victor Uhl Payne, beloved husband, brother, and pop, passed away peacefully on 07-13-2024 at the age of 89. Twenty-three days shy of 90. A devoted lover of golf and the great outdoors, Uhl dedicated more than 34 years of his professional life to Molpus Forest Products, where his hard work and commitment left an enduring impact on colleagues and the industry alike. Uhl was a dedicated and faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served many different roles.
Uhl is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Eunice and Clois Payne, as well as his siblings Jack, Yvonne, Mabe, and Peggy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by his devoted wife, Janice; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Cindy; his chosen daughter, Paula Clearman; and his treasured grandchildren, Baileigh and Landry; He is also survived by his sisters, Laquita, Jo, Weegie, Glenda, Rhonda, and his brother Hoyt.
Uhl’s passion for life, his dedication to his family, and his love for the outdoors will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
