It was another high-octane night for the Union Yellowjacket offense as they beat Stringer 42-3 on Thursday night.

The game was played on Thursday night due to concerns about circumstances surrounding Hurricane Delta.

Kenyon Clay continued to run wild, tallying 142 yards on eight carries and three rushing touchdowns. Clay had another solid night throwing the pigskin as well, completing 6-of-13 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Union’s star receiver Markus Jones caught three balls for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Jackets’ running back Jaylon Buckley returned to action this week. He rushed for 91 yards on eight carries and scored a touchdown.  Matthew Lott made his only catch count in a big way, scoring a 14 yard touchdown early in the second quarter. This was Matthew’s second touchdown of the season.

Union gained 339 total yards of offense in this game and held Stringer to 45 total yards for the night. UHS recovered three Red Devil fumbles, including a strip sack fumble in the 4th quarter, which was forced by sophomore Bankston Rush.

Union improves to 5-1 in 2020 and has a three-game winning streak going. Stringer falls to 3-3 in 2020. Union faces a big road test this week as they go up to Scott Central to play the powerhouse Rebels.
