It was a fairly slow spring break for the Union baseball and softball teams.

Each team only got in one game as the Union baseball team lost 6-3 to Stringer on Tuesday while the Lady Yellowjackets lost 14-4 to Florence on Saturday.

Stringer boys 6, Union 3

The Red Devils overcame an early deficit and took a three-run win over the Yellowjackets on Tuesday.

Union had six hits as Hayden Dolan was 2-for-4 with a double. Samuel Allawine doubled and scored a run while Rafe Manning and Brylen Edmonson each singled and scored.

Colt Smith started on the mound and pitched all seven innings, giving up six runs, only one earned, on eight hits while striking out five. 

Florence girls 14, Union 4

The Lady Eagles had one big inning Saturday.

Abigail Cleveland started in the circle for Union and pitched two innings, giving up eight runs on one hit and seven walks.
