Rockets, Lady Rockets staying focused on season

The Neshoba Central boys basketball team dropped a non-conference game to Pearl 60-49 to move to 5-4 on the season. 

Last Tuesday, the Rockets defeated Choctaw Central 93-86 on the court. 

The Warriors, also 5-4 on the season, went 1-3 last week. After losing to Neshoba Central, the Warriors lost to Jackson prep 77-67 on Thursday. The Warriors defeated South Pontotoc 51-46 on Saturday. 

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors, 5-2 on the season, went 2-1 last week. They began the week losing to Neshoba Central 60-54. On Thursday, the Lady Warriors defeated Jackson Prep 56-32, and they carried that momentum into Saturday when they defeated Lafayette 68-54. 

The Lady Rockets are currently sitting 8-1 on the season, winning all of their games last week. They began with the victory over the Lady Warriors and on Thursday defeated Pearl 63-40. On Saturday, the Lady Rockets thumped Theodore 61-26 at the St. Martin Classic. 

Sophomore Kyli Truss is currently leading the Lady Rockets with 11.6 points per game. She has 104 points on the season. 

The Tornadoes are looking to rebound after two losses last week. The boys lost to East Webster 58-48 on Thursday and the following day were downed by Leake Central 42-27. 

The Lady Tornadoes suffered a similar fate last week, losing to East Webster 68-39 and losing to Leake Central 38-27.
