The California man arrested for offering snorts of cocaine on Founders Square the first night of the Neshoba County Fair has not been connected to a cabin yet, the authorities said.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said the investigation has not determined whether the man was staying in a cabin or the campers.

“He lawyered up pretty quickly,” Clark said.

The man, Jeremy Charles Libenstein, 29, 12424 Appleton Way, Los Angeles, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested on Friday, July 26, on the Fairgrounds after deputies and Fair Security were told a man in an L.A. Dodgers shirt was offering people a “bump” of a white powdery substance at the Pavillion on Founders Square.

Clark said authorities stopped and questioned Libenstein, who fit the description, in front of Cabin 28 and 29.

After the deputies asked him to empty his pockets, the crowd that had formed told deputies there was a small bag with a white powder-like substance on the ground at his feet. According to Clark, Libenstein also produced several vape pens that had traces of the powdery substance.

Libenstein bonded out of the Neshoba County Detention Center on July 29 after posting a $20,000 bond.
