Lady Warriors softball team win two games, stand at 9-5 on season

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors picked up two fast-pitch wins and entered the week with a 9-5 record.

The Lady Warriors lost two games, falling 12-0 to Neshoba Central and 12-0 to West Lauderdale. They bounced back to beat Jefferson County 12-2 and Pearl 9-5.

The Lady Warriors were to host Neshoba Central on Monday, host Kosciusko on Thursday and visit Houston on Friday.

Tori Henry struck out eight batters to pace the Lady Warriors past Jefferson County.

Choctaw Central scored three in the first, one in the second, two in the third and six in the fourth. Jefferson County scored two in the third.

Leia Phillips hit a home run, Tyra Billy hit a triple, and Tessney Morris hit a double.

Delycia Cunningham hit a double and a single to pace Choctaw Central past Pearl.

The Lady Warriors scored two in the second, four in the third and three in the sixth. Pearl scored two in the first, one in the second and three in the three in the sixth.

Tyre Billy had three hits, Malaka Morris hit a double and a single.

In games played the previous week, the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors split a pair of fast-pitch softball games.

The Lady Warriors dropped a 9-5 decision to Ethel and then defeated Northwest Rankin, 9-4.

Ethel came on strong in the later innings to defeat Choctaw Central.

Choctaw Central scored three in the second and  two in the fifth. Ethel scored one in the third, three in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Lauren Frazier took the pitching loss. Raiyleigh Perry hit a triple.

The Lady Warriors banged out eight hits as they knocked off Nanih Waiya,

Choctaw Central scored three in the first, three in the fourth and three in the fifth. Nanih Waiya scored three in the first and one in the second.

Frazier was the winning pitcher.

Perry had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in another run. Kaisley Hernandez hit a single and scored two runs. Tayla Willis had three hits, scored a run and knocked in two runs.
