The Leake Academy Lady Rebels split a pair of softball games last week.

The Lady Rebels open the week with a 6-5 win over Pillow Academy and then lost 14-0 to East Rankin on Tuesday.

Leake only has one game scheduled this week as they will play at Wayne in a key district contest on Tuesday.

Leake 6, Pillow 5

The Lady Rebels overcame an early deficit and took a one-run win over the Lady Mustangs on Monday.

Pillow scored three in the second and one in the third and led 4-0 before Leake scored two runs in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 4-2. Leake then scored four runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-4 lead. Pillow scored one in the sixth for the final margin.

Leake had six hits in the contest, led by Lily McDonald, who was 2-for-3 with a triple, home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Raylee Quick and Kylee Boykin each doubled and scored a run while Brooklyn Wade and Sydney Jones each singled and scored run.

Boykin started in in the circle and pitched six innings, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two to pick up the win. Quick pitched scoreless seventh inning to pick up the save.

East Rankin 14, Leake 0

The Lady Rebels didn’t have a hit as they dropped a run-rule loss to East Rankin on Tuesday.

East Rankin scored two in the first, nine in the second and three in the third.

Leake did draw three walks as Marleigh Myers, Brealynn Malone and Sydney Jones each walked.

Raylee Quick started in the circle and gave up 11 runs with only five being earned on eight hits and two walks while striking out two.
