Janice Weaver Stokes

Funeral services for Janice Weaver Stokes were held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Chris Gully and Bro. Mike Sims officiating. Burial followed in Coy Community Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stokes, 82, of Preston died Friday, June 28, 2024.

Janice was born in Noxubee County, but raised in Kemper County and attended Lynville Schools. She retired from Witco-Richardson after 33 years. Mrs. Stokes was a longtime member of Coy Community Church.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Roy Stokes; sons, Mickey Stokes (Susan) and Terry Stokes; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Annette Taylor (Olin).

Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Doug Weaver; brother Johnny Weaver; father and mother-in-law, RB and Nannie Stokes.
