The high-octane offense of the Yellowjackets was on display again as Union High School traveled to Eupora and blanked the Eagles 48-0 Friday night in prep football action.

Union quarterback Kenyon Clay had another big night, this time with his legs. Clay carried the ball 13 times for 158 yards and rushed for five touchdowns. He added 95 passing yards with 73 yards going to receiver Marcus Jones.  A large portion of the passing success was a 61-yard touchdown pass to Marcus.

Jaylon Buckley led the Jacket running backs with 83 yards on seven carries, while Jaheim Gill rushed for 71 yards on nine carries.

Wide receiver Matthew Lott recovered a Cameron Jackson fumble in the end zone to cap off the scoring for UHS in the fourth quarter.

The Jackets had 372 rushing yards and a total offensive explosion of 467 yards. Union’s defense held the Eagles to 50 total yards of offense.

UHS improves to 2-0 in Coach Wren’s first season while Eupora falls to 1-1.  Both teams will be back in action Friday night. The Jackets will head to Newton County to play their annual rivalry game against the Cougars.
