The Union baseball team continued its turnaround season last week with a big division win over Sebastopol.

In their only action of the week, the Yellowjackets beat the Bobcats 16-12 in Division 4-2A play.

Union improves to 14-7 on the season and will host Sebastopol on Monday to finish out the regular season. A win on Monday would give Union second in division play.

The Yellowjackets took an early lead and held off a late rally by the Bobcats to take a four-run win on Friday. 

Sebastopol scored one in the first and third while Union scored six in the second and five in the fourth to lead 11-2. Union added one in the fifth and four big insurance runs in the seventh while Sebastopol scored two in the fifth and eight in the seventh. 

Union had 14 hit, drew six walks and had seven hit batters. Austin Lee was 3-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs while Kooper Fultz was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Rafe Manning was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs while Hayden Dolan was 2-for-3 with a double. Jacob Freeman singled and drove in two runs while Mason Tucker singled and scored three runs. My.an Moore also singled and drove in two runs. 

Pitching: Freeman started on the mound and pitched four innings, giving up three runs on one hit and four walks while striking out three. Samuel Alawine pitched the next two innings and gave up seven runs on two hits and three walks. Tanner Watkins pitched next but didn’t get an out and gave up two runs on two walks. Fultz got the last three outs and gave up one hit and walked four.
