Roslyn Chauncey Burks

Funeral services for Ms. Roslyn Chauncey Burks will be held 10 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Mars Hill Pentecostal Church in Winston County with Rev. Richard Burks officiating. Interment will be in Mars Hill Pentecostal Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Burks, 85, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her home in Philadelphia, MS. She lived most of her life in the Alice Community, and she was a member of Mars Hill Pentecostal Church. Her hobbies were fishing, flowers and gardening, tending to her cows, and birdwatching.

Preceded in death: husband, James Allen Burks; parents, Martin and Minnie Chauncey; sisters, Fredlou Register, Beulah Carver, Dollie Melton, Minnie Manac; brothers, Dud, Isom, Martin, and Jim Chauncey; grandsons, James Eugene Burks, Adam Mark Wright.

Survivors: daughter, Kathleen Moore; son, John Burks (Wanda); brother, Johnny Chauncey; (2) grandchildren, (9) great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren.
