Neshoba Central picked up their second win of the season Friday night, beating Vicksburg in their region opener on the road, 31-20.

Mekhi Gaddis led the Rockets on offense with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Will Huffman led the defense with 10 total tackles on defense.

After winning only one of their first five games, it was a much needed win for the Rockets to build confidence in the thick of region play. Neshoba Central will host Columbus this Friday night as they continue to battle in region play.

Philadelphia is starting to get hot in region play, starting off 2-0 in region games after going winless in their first five games, which were all non-region matchups. They defeated Sebastopol 68-45 on Friday in an offensive shootout. The Tornadoes will look to continue that momentum as they enter the home stretch of their schedule. Philadelphia will host a very good Kemper County on Friday night, in what will be the final non-region matchup on their schedule.

Choctaw Central lost their second straight game in a 37-13 defeat to open region play. The Warriors were led by Keyshawn Ben with 271 total yards and two touchdowns on the night. The two-game losing streak for the Warriors comes after starting the season 4-0. Choctaw Central will be back in action this Friday, as they host Leake Central in their first home region game.
