Rachel Louise Hoyt Eakes

Graveside service for Ms. Rachel Louise Hoyt Eakes was held at 10 AM Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at McClain Chapel Cemetery. 

Ms. Eakes, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Anderson Baptist Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was a member of McClain Chapel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family, flowers, traveling and her animals. 

She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Edward Hoyt and William Alfred Eakes; parents, Nathan Huey Pilgrim and Wilma Louise Billings Pilgrim; daughter, Ellen Diane Lewis; sister, Mary Ann Barham. 

Survivors include daughters, Tammy Atkinson and Kathy (Cal) Lanier of Kemper Co.; sisters, Pauline Williams and Juanita Mayerhoff of Kemper Co, Mildred Miles of Philadelphia; special aunt, Ola Mae Holmes; 1 grandson, Brandon Atkinson; many special nieces and nephews and great nephews.
