A graveside service for Percy E. Barrett was held Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Fleming officiating.  Visitation was held Tuesday at McClain-Hays Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until time of departure.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Barrett, 99, of Philadelphia, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at Neshoba County General Hospital. 

A native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County, he worked for Weyerhaeuser for 30 years until he retired.  After a short retirement he went to work for the City of Philadelphia as a heavy equipment operator and retired from there after 10 years.  Mr. Barrett was a member of Oak Ridge Church of God.

Survivors include son, Wilford Barrett (Reba) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Greg Barrett (Becky) and Brad Barrett (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Ben Barrett, Shelby Barrett, Aireyal Barrett, Ben Massey, Anna Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Barrett; parents, Zack and Mary Barrett; three sisters, Helen, Neoma, and Vastye; 10 brothers, L. B., Hubert, J. W., Winner, Lane, Garland, Bum, Warneck, Willis Charles, and Judge.
