Funeral service for Mrs. Peggy Ann Cooke was held 10 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John E. Stephens and Rev. Scott Boatner officiating. Burial was in Sandtown Cemetery.

Mrs. Cooke, 85, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. Her hobbies were word search puzzles, making homemade banana bread and giving it to family and friends.

Preceded in death parents, Arvie Preston and Mary Lou Gray; sisters, Mary Daniels, Betty Morgan; brothers, Talmadge, Ray, Ross, Terry, Robert Gray, Gerry Gray; granddaughter Brandy Scarbrough (Matthew).

Survivors, husband, Charles Wesley Cooke; daughters, Chyrel Wallace (Wayne), Lasandra Stewart (Ricky “Worm”), Contina Horn (John); step-daughters, Lisa Dobecki (Bob), Beth Bettorf (Will); sister, Martha Whittle; brothers, Dwight Gray, Perry Gray; (6) grandchildren, Jacob Robertson (Saysha), Layne Lepard, Jason Smith, Jonathan Horn, Jessica Bailey, Andrew Lindsey; (8) great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
