A man and woman were arrested last week with drugs and a stolen firearm after they were pulled over on Highway 15 South inside the city limits.

According to Police Chief Eric Lyons, the driver, Miranda M. Carter, 25, of 159 Hickman Road, Louisville, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell.

The passenger, Leandre Macon, 36, of 1488 Highway 14 West, McCool, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm, Lyons said.

On June 27, at about 10 a.m., a PPD officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 15 South near the Highway 16 intersection.

“After speaking with the driver,” Lyons said, “The officer searched the vehicle and recovered a jar containing methamphetamine as well as a small amount of marijuana.”

The officer also recovered a handgun that was found to be stolen, Lyons said.
