Jarquez Hunter of Neshoba Central won first place in his weight division Saturday in the Mississippi High School Activities Association powerlifting state championship.
Neshoba Central finished with 12 team points. Vicksburg won the Class 5A division with 49 points.
Hunter won the 198-pound division with 1,450 total pounds lifted.
Kelbee Holmes finished third in the 220 pound division with 1,305 total pounds lifted.
Dylan Hutchinson placed fourth in the 308 pound division with 1,270 total pounds lifted.
