A man and woman from Morton were arrested after a traffic stop yielded drugs on Friday around lunchtime.

The driver, Robert Watkins, 36, 1957 Highway 80, Morton, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

A rear-seat passenger in the car, identified as Kristy Dickerson, was also arrested. Dickerson, 38, 968 Line Creek Road, Morton, was arrested and charged with giving false identification information.

Clark said his deputy pulled over Watkins, who was driving an Infinity suspiciously, in front of the Chevron on Highway 16 West on Friday, May 3, at about noon.

Watkins was reportedly acting nervous at the time he was pulled over.

The deputy could see a small plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine in a receptacle in the driver’s side door, Clark said.

Watkins claimed the drugs and was taken into custody along with Dickerson who gave the deputy false identifying information.

Two other passengers in the car, a male and female, were not charged and were let go.
