A Decatur man surrendered to Philadelphia Police in the shooting of a man involved with his ex-lover.

The man, Cassidy Sanchez Johnson, 43, turned himself in to police on Monday in the Saturday morning shooting on Donald Avenue, Police Chief Eric Lyons said.

Johnson faces charges of breaking and entering and aggravated assault.

The charges stem from a shooting reported at 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Lyons said PPD received a call about a male victim being shot in the head on Donald Avenue.

According to Lyons, officers responded to 1002 Donald Avenue and were advised that a male subject kicked the

door in of his ex-girlfriend’s house and entered the bedroom and shot a male while they were in bed. He said the ex left the residence before officers arrived.

The victim was then transported to Neshoba General for medical attention.
