A Philadelphia man was arrested at work for stealing a rifle from a vehicle parked on Byrd Avenue earlier this year, the authorities said.

The man, Nakia D. Harper, 28, of Philadelphia was arrested and charged with auto burglary. He is currently in jail on a $10,000 bond, according to jail records.

Police Chief Eric Lyons said Harper was arrested on Aug. 24, around 9 a.m. at Burger King on West Beacon Street.

The arrest comes in relation to a breaking and entering case from March where a Remington rifle was stolen out of a vehicle on Byrd Avenue.

“Officers obtained new video evidence that led to Harper’s arrest,” Lyons said.
