The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets are off to a 3-0 start as they swept two games past Kosciusko and they defeated Ethel in fast-pitch softball action last week.

Neshoba Central defeated Kosciusko 11-6 and 17-7. Then they stopped Ethel 11-0. A game with Newton County was rained out.

The Lady Rockets have a busy week ahead, weather permitting. They were to host Newton County on Tuesday and visit Southeast Lauderdale on Thursday. Neshoba Central will then enter the Daphne (Ala.) tournament Friday and Saturday.

"We are getting some good pitching and timely hits," Coach Trae Embry said. "We still have some things to work on but the team is coming together well. We need to play some games."

Kosciusko 6

The Lady Rockets outhit Kosciusko 16-10 in the first of two game that were played February 28.

The Lady Rockets scored six in the second, three in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seven. The Lady Whippets answered with one in the first, one in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Elleigh Willis was the winning pitcher. She struck out six batters.

Mauhree Jones hit a double and two singles. She scored two runs and knocked in four more. AnnaLeigh Jones hit a double and a single. She knocked in two runs.

Tenly Grisham had three hits while scoring two runs and knocking in two more. Kyle Thompson hit a double and two singles. She scored two runs. Destiny Dill hit two singles and scored two runs. Reese Page had two hits, scored one run and knocked in two more.

Mauhree Jones hit a home run and knocked in seven runs to lead the Lady Rockets past Kosciusko in game two.

The Lady Rockets scored five in the first, three in the second, six in the third, one in the fourth and two in the sixth. Kosciusko answered with one in the first, one in the second,, one in the third and four in the fifth.

Jones was the winning pitcher. Along with her home run, she helped her cause with a double and two singles while scoring two runs.

Destiny Dill scored four runs, connected a triple and a double and knocked in four runs.

Kyle Thompson hit a double and two singles while scoring three runs and knocking in two more. Tenly Grisham hit a double and two singles and scored three runs. AnnaLeigh Jones had two hits while scoring two runs and knocking in two more.

Ethel 0

Elleigh Willis struck out nine batters as she pitched a no-hitter and led the Lady Rockets to a win over Ethel Saturday.

Neshoba Central scored one in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, five in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Willis hit a double to help her cause. She also knocked in three runs.

Destiny Dill had two hits and scored two runs. Kyle Thompson and Mauhree Jones both had two hits and scored a run. Jeyden Ben had two hits, scored one run and knocked in two more. Reese Page scored one run and knocked in two more runs.

Morton 6

Earlier in February, the Lady Rockets took a win over Morton in a five-inning jamboree game.

The Lady Rockets scored three in the first, two in the fourth and two in the fifth. Morton scored one in the first, two in the fourth and three in the fifth,
