The 2019-2020 soccer season came to an end as the Neshoba Central girls soccer team was eliminated by Saltillo Friday night, 6-0, in the second round of the state playoffs.

The Neshoba Central girls soccer team advanced in the Class 5A state playoffs last Tuesday with a 7-0 win over Vicksburg.

Rose Coats, Ella Elliot and Makaylin Alex all scored two goals each while Abbie Cumberland put in one goal. Hailey Hardy was credited with an assist.

The Lady Rockets were the only local soccer team to qualify for the playoffs. They finished with a 13-7 record.

“We were a young team this year,” Coach Jared Lee said. “Saltillo had older girls playing. They were stronger and faster.

“The girls had a good season. We got a lot of wins. The boys had about the same number of wins but they finished third in the region. We just want to get better and have both teams make it to the playoffs next year.”
