John Walter Rawls

John Walter Rawls was born on November 15, 1929, to William Fort and Avon Rawls in Rawls, Arkansas. 

He passed away on March 6, 2023, at his home in Philadelphia, MS. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Corinne, brothers, Jerry, Robert and Frank Rawls, stepsons Ricky, Bobby, and Rodger McCartney. He is survived by daughter Susan Tubbs (David), sons David Rawls (Susan), Jeff Rawls (Donna), daughter Lisa Lubbess (Dave) stepdaughter Sheila Jacobs, stepson Ronnie McCartney and step-daughter-in-law Debbie McCartney. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 

He was dedicated to, and retired from the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Mr. John was active in the Queensborough and Sunset Masonic Lodges. He was laid to rest on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA.
