Deputies nab Morton man with ecstasy
A Morton man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after he was caught with ecstasy pills and marijuana at a traffic checkpoint on Highway 21 near Dixon.
The man, Gary Danyell Hathorn, 41, 163 Spring Street, Morton, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking of a controlled substance, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.
Hathorn was out on a $25,800 bond after a hearing on Monday, Aug. 28, Clark said.
Hathorn was arrested at a traffic checkpoint on Highway 21 near Road 402 while driving a White Kia, Clark said. Deputies smelled the odor of marijuana and searched Hathorn.
The deputies discovered an “abnormally large bulge” in his pocket and found a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana and 100 ecstasy tablets.
Clark said deputies determined that Hathorn did not have a medical card for the marijuana.
The ecstasy tablets could sell for about $5 each, according to Clark.
