Graveside services for Mr. Cecil I. Stokes were held 2 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Henry’s Chapel Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Mack Alford and Rev. Ryan McGough officiated the service. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Service in charge.

Mr. Stokes, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Atwood Personal Care Home in Philadelphia. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retired firefighter and member of Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church. His hobbies included reading and gardening. Mr. Stokes loved his Lord, his family, his country and his community. He loved to sing and was often called upon in church to give the opening prayer.

Nothing would make him happier than being with his family and singing Hank Williams and George Jones songs. He will truly be missed by his children, grandchildren and all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Stokes was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Marshall Stokes and Edna Burrage Stokes; Wife, Manza L. Stokes; Sister, Floy Jean Bouchillion; Brother, James Pinkney Stokes.

Survivors are daughters, Dolores White (Kenny) of Huntsville, AL, Debbie Gibbs (Tom) of Charlottesville, VA, Eula Stokes of Philadelphia, MS and Amy Ukele (Kevin) of Madison, MS; Son, Marshall Stokes (Sheryl) of Flowood, MS; (7) Grandchildren; (9) Great-Grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Joshua Stokes, William Stokes, Colton Thornton, Caleb Heflin, Dale Green and Dee Edwards.
