Mrs. Carolyn Rigdon Covington, 78, of Little Rock passed away peacefully in her home on March 27, 2022. . Funeral services with burial followed at Antioch Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. J.R. Eaton and Rev. Joel Embry officiating.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Covington, or Nanny and Nana as she was affectionately called, had a deep love for her family. She had a calm, sweet spirit and loved spending time with them. She also loved her Lord and her church family dearly. She served others with a faithful servant’s heart for many years. She had a love for cooking and gardening, and she loved beautiful flowers. She found joy in life’s simple blessings like watching hummingbirds frequent her porches. She will be dearly missed, but her family rejoices in knowing that she has life everlasting through her faith in Jesus Christ.

Survivors include sons, Robert Covington (Ben), and Stanley Covington (Valerie); daughter, Belinda Johnson (Mike); brother, Ray Rigdon; three grandchildren whom she adored, Brandi Covington Hansford (Tyler), Phillip Johnson (Jailine), and Cole Johnson; great-grandchildren, Camryn Hansford and Cora Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mr. James Earl “Shorty” Covington; parents Virgil and Madie Rigdon; one brother, Earl Rigdon; two sisters, Evelyn “Tootsie” Miller and Bonnie Mabry.

Pallbearers were Chuck Butler, Dewayne Butler, David Butler, Mike Miller, Jimmy Rigdon, and Virgil Rigdon.
