Arthur Eakes

Funeral services for Arthur Eakes were held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Bert Jones officiating.  Burial  followed in McClain Cemetery.  Visitation was held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12 noon until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Mr. Eakes, 73, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, September 18, 2021.

He was a native of Neshoba County and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2015 after 43 years. Mr. Eakes was a member of McClain Chapel Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ruth Withers Eakes; son, Arthur Chester “Chet” Eakes; step-son, Andrew Joseph Givens, Jr.; adopted daughter, Ashley Renee Barrier; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; sister, Mary Posey; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.

Preceded in death by parents, Chester and Magaline Eakes; son, Robert Ashley Eakes; brother, Johnny Mac Eakes; sister, Linda Sue Knight.
