Twenty-three-year-old Kendall Triplett, found murdered late last week in Philadelphia, was being remembered as a friend, confidant, and shining light in the lives of those who knew him.

“I cannot stop crying,” said Akalia Pace as she remembered Triplett in a Facebook post on Thursday.

Triplett was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head in a parked car off Clyde Avenue and a man has been arrested. (See story, page 2A.)

“If you knew my cousin, Kendall Triplett, you know he didn’t bother a soul. He kept to himself, lived out loud, and loved the people around him,” she wrote. “My spirit cannot rest.”

Jamie Pope gave a list of things she loved about Triplett in a post that included a video of him doing a cartwheel in a field.

“The kindest soul,” she wrote. “The most optimistic light, the best advice giver, the funniest comment maker, the style, the grace, the catwalk, and the thoughtfulness and energy you put into others are just a few of the things that make you amazing.”

Keontae Nash called Triplett a ‘high vibrating soul” on Facebook.

“You would keep everyone bright even in your darkest times. Would give if you had nothing. Love, support, laughs, etc.,” Nash said. “You gave it all. Anyone could talk to you about anything.”

Several of his Philadelphia teachers remembered Triplett, offering condolences to his family and talking about their good experiences with him at school.

“Kendall was a sweetheart,” LeAnna Williams Linkins said. “I enjoyed him in class! A kind soul.”

Libby Eldridge said, “This is just heartbreaking!! Kendall was one of the sweetest, most enjoyable students I had the pleasure of teaching. I pray for his family and all those who knew and loved him. His presence will be missed!”

Lee Ann Burt Fulton said that Triplett was “never without a smile” and described him as “so kind.”

“Sure hurts,” Fulton wrote. “My prayers for his family and all who loved him.”
