Authorities are seeking leads following vehicle thefts and a break-in on two different nights last week at Tolbert Chevrolet.

One of the stolen vehicles, a silver 2010 Chevy Equinox, has been entered into a national database that will ensure other agencies can identify the vehicle, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons.

The first break-in was reported on Wed., Sept. 27, at about 8 a.m. Lyons said officers responded to Tolbert’s following a report of possible vandalism.

“Upon arrival officers observed the west side glass door had been broken out,” he said.

Investigators say it appeared that someone threw a brick through the glass and made entry into the building. The investigation uncovered a small amount of blood at the scene which was collected as evidence.

Lyons said two sets of keys were also taken from inside the building.

Then, on Friday, Sept. 29, at about 10 a.m. officers responded back to Tolbert’s where another vehicle was reported stolen from the lot.

The vehicle was one that was there for repairs that the owner had dropped off earlier in the week and was parked outside the gates, Lyons said.

Lyons said neither of the vehicles corresponding to the stolen keys had been taken.

“This case is currently under investigation,” Lyons said.
