Vehicle catches fire in front of store

No injuries were reported in a car fire at a Philadelphia convenience store last Friday evening.

The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to a call of a car fire in the parking lot of Main Street Junction, 294 W Beacon St., at about 5:35 p.m. on July 12.

Philadelphia Fire Chief Deric Horne said the fire that occurred in a parking space next to the store was extinguished within about 20 minutes.

Horne said no damage was reported to the store or other vehicles. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he said.
