Valid cabin parking permits required Thursday pre-Fair

Vehicles without valid cabin parking permits will not be allowed into the Neshoba County Fairgrounds Thursday evening before the Fair, it was announced on Monday, reinforcing a policy in place for nearly a decade, Fair officials said.

“Due to traffic congestion inside the Fairgrounds on Thursday evening before the Fair officially opens on Friday, vehicles WITHOUT valid cabin parking permits must be parked outside the gates in the parking lots beginning on Thursday, July 21. Parking attendants will be on duty to direct parking,” the Fair Board said in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon.

“Temporary parking permits WILL NOT be available on Thursday, July 21. A valid cabin parking permit will be required to enter the Fairgrounds residential areas from 6-10 PM on THURSDAY, JULY 21 at Gates 1, 2 & 4 only.

The chains on the roads inside the grounds will be up at 10:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, officials said.
Temporary parking permits will be available on Friday, July 22 and continue through the duration of the Fair, they said.
“This is not a new policy. This policy as adopted by the Board of Directors has been in place since 2014,” the announcement said.

The Fair Board also warned that duplicating parking  permits  is not permitted and the cabin, camper or individual "will forfeit one pass for the next three years."
