Two Neshoba County men have been arrested in connection with sex crimes involving a 5-year-old female and the production of child pornography with a 16-year-old female victim, the authorities said.

Neshoba County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Eddie Mowdy ,59, and Odie Landrum, 59, of 10251 Road 363 Union this week.

The arrests are in connection with sex crimes that occurred between November 2022 and January 2023.

A family member of the children discovered nude photos and videos of the children.

The mother called and reported the crimes to the Sheriff’s Office.

Forensic evidence from two telephones revealed enough evidence to charge both suspects.

More charges are expected to be filed after forensic interviews are performed on both victims.

Eddie Mowdy was previously convicted of statutory rape in October of 2006 in connection with a Scott County case.

He served 12 years and was released from Mississippi Department of Corrections custody in February 2018.

Mowdy is currently registered as a sex offender.

Mowdy was charged with two counts of child pornography, three counts of attempted statutory rape, three molesting a child “lustful touching, Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said.

Landrum, 10251 Road 363, was charged with one count of child abuse and one count of child pornography, Clark said.

Both were denied bond and are being held in the Neshoba County Detention Center.
