Cyrus Ben re-elected Chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians
Cyrus Ben has been re-elected Chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians with 62 percent of the vote.
Ben is on his way to a second term as chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, complete but uncertified results show in Tuesday’s elections.
Ben received 1,872 votes. Former chief Phyliss J. Anderson received 1,023 votes or 34 percent. Tarina K. Anderson received 141 votes or 5%.
Absentee Ballots will be opened Wednesday starting at 1 p.m., officials said.
There are a total of 215 ballots to be opened.
