Two individuals wanted on theft charges out of Texas were apprehended Tuesday Morning at Main Street Junction in what turned out to be a heavy police presence.

The two have been identified as Chanel Marie Lewis and Taylor Warren Lewis of Plano, Texas. They were taken into custody and are being held at the Winston County Jail, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons. They are awaiting extradition back to Texas

Lyons said officers responded to a call at Main Street Junction, 294 W Beacon St., following reports of a female passed out in the driver seat of a car parked there with two children inside. He said the vehicle had reportedly been parked there for about five hours.

PPD officers made contact with the female and later made contact with a male subject asleep in the vehicle next to them, Lyons said. The two were together but driving separate vehicles.

“Both stated that they were traveling and stopped to rest,” Lyons said.

Both were identified as wanted out of Texas on theft charges and were taken into custody.
