Suspicious man triggers bank alarm

Posted

No one was arrested after a visible law enforcement response to The Citizens Bank downtown due to a teller panic alarm last week.

A suspicious person walked into the main branch of The Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, 521 Main Street, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and made an unusual request that made bank employees suspicious of the man, Police Chief Eric Lyons said.

A teller pushed the panic alarm dispatching law enforcemnt to the bank.

Sheriff Eric Clark said 911 records show the alarm went out at 2:52 p.m. and five PPD units and three units with the NCSO responded to the bank.

“Once on scene officers spoke with the male and nothing was found and he was released,” Lyons said.
