Neshoba County supervisors during their regular meeting last week voted to acquire two news ambulances.

The county received two bids. Emergency Equipment Professionals of Horn Lake had the low bid at $421,653. The second bid was $470,684. It will be a lease purchase agreement for the Neshoba County Ambulance Enterprise.

“The delivery time on these ambulances is 18 to 24 months,” said County Administer Jeff Mayo. “We still haven’t received the two ambulances we ordered in May 2021. It looks like we will get two new ambulances this year and the others will come in the year after next.”

The ambulance service runs six front-line vehicles. When the new ones come in, they will be rotated in and two of the older ones will be retired. The oldest vehicles are 2013.

Neshoba Ambulance Enterprise is a joint venture between Neshoba General Hospital and the county.
