The Board of Supervisors has received a $250,000 matching grant from the Mississippi Development Authority to build a new access road into the Philadelphia Neshoba County Industrial Park.

The board is matching the grant. The new road will access to about 75 acres on the south side of the industrial park bordering the airport. The road will be about half a mile long and will run on the west side of the Business Enterprise Center.

Taylor Sudden Services Inc. owns three buildings in the industrial park and is leasing the recently opened Taylor Mast building.

The company also owns 20 adjacent acres along the Industrial Park road to meet both current and future needs. Taylor is in the process of building a testing pad for their heavy machines.

“The road will allow access to the property south of Taylor for future development,”  County Administer Jeff Mayo said. “We will probably get started on the project early next year. ”

“The county really stepped up for us, just like the did on the Taylor project,” CDP director David Vowell said. “This is very important because we don’t have any other properties to show right now.”
