Neshoba County supervisors approved appointments to represent District 4 on the East Central Community College Board of Trustees and the Neshoba County Library Ccommission.

District 4 Supervisor Kevin Wilcher made the recommendations. Edsel Cliburn was reappointed to another five-term on the ECCC board of trustees. Frances Hamilton was appointed to the library board of trustees.

Supervisors held their first meeting of December Monday.

In other matters, supervisors voted to:

• Approve Sheriff Eric Clark’s request for $1,149 to be placed in the Informant Fee Account. Supervisors also approved a $1.25 per hour pay increase for Deputy Matthew Winstead;

• Accept the daily meal log and detailed billing report from the jail for the month of November. Supervisors accepted the resignation from detention officer Jerry Waiter, and the retirement notice from detention supervisor Evelyn McBeath. Supervisors approved pay raises for several employees at the jail;

• Approve the final engineering invoice of $12,576 for bridge work on County Road 397;

• Approve the payment of $1,000 for dues to the Mississippi Circuit Clerk’s Association;

• Approve the payment of $10 for the tax assessor/collector’s office for the 2021 Mississippi Chapter IAAO dues; and, $1,000 for dues to Mississippi Assessor/Collector Association;

• Approve paying $1,000 for dues to the Mississippi Chancery Clerk’s Association;

• Approve paying $75 as dues to the Mississippi Association of County Administrators and Comptrollers;

• Approve the continuation of the Declaration of Emergency for COVID-19 until January 4, 2021. • Supervisors also approved several pay raises and personnel moves in the Emergency Management Department.

• Supervisors accepted the receipt of Fiscal Year 2020 EMPG Grant Funding of $28,640.00. 

• Accept the annual treasurer’s report from the East Neshoba Fire Protection District;

• Approve the appointment of Tia Graff as a commissioner for the Linwood Fire Protection District;

• Acknowledge receipt of Fiscal Year 2019 Audit Report.
