An Alabama woman was arrested Sunday at the Golden Moon Hotel & Casino in connection with a vehicle stolen in Alabama.

The woman, Betty Michelle Smith, 36, of 1100 Highway 80 West, Demopolis, Ala., was arrested on a warrant from the Demopolis Police Department for vehicle theft.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Smith has already been prepared for extradition and the recovered vehicle is ready to be returned to its rightful owner. He does not expect Smith to face any local charges.

Clark said the vehicle, a 2007 Chevy Impala, first registered on a local license plate camera on Holland Avenue near Neshoba General Hospital around 6:45 p.m. on June 4.

Deputies were then able to track the vehicle to the parking lot at the Golden Moon Casino. Clark said the deputies took a while to find the vehicle because it had been spray-painted black. The vehicle that was reported stolen in Alabama was gold.

In coordination with casino security and the Choctaw Police Department, deputies were able to locate and arrest Smith on the casino property at around 8 p.m.
