No injuries were reported when a Philadelphia Police car responding to a call on Friday collided with a pickup truck hauling wood at a traffic signal downtown.
An officer, with blue lights and siren initiated, was headed north on Pecan Avenue toward Beacon Street at about 3:15 p.m. when the accident occurred.
The officer was unable to avoid a collision with a gray Toyota headed west on Beacon Street as the officer entered the intersection expecting the truck to stop, according to Police Chief Eric Lyons.
Lyons said the initial call involved a man chasing a woman west on Beacon Street. Another officer caught up with the man in the Wal-Mart parking lot and resolved the issue without charges being filed, Lyons said.
