An Alabama man was arrested after he fired shots in a grocery store parking lot as part of a domestic dispute one morning last month.

The man, Billy Earl Jones, 49, 330 Dusty Trail Lane, Talladega, Ala., was arrested and charged with discharging a weapon, disorderly conduct, possession of paraphernalia and domestic violence, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons.

He said a female, Brandy Leigh Bohanon, 50, 125 Terry Street, also in Talladega, was arrested and charged with public drunk and possession of paraphernalia.

On Sunday, Jan. 28, at about 10:30 a.m., PPD officers responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Vowell’s, 595 E Main St.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Jones and Bohanon near a maroon car where the shots were reported to have come from, according to Lyons. Responding officers determined Jones and Bohanon were engaged in a domestic dispute at the time the shots were fired.

Both were arrested.

Lyons said they were reportedly headed back to Alabama from the casinos here when they began to argue and pulled over in the parking where the argument escalated leading Jones to grab a gun and fire a shot into the air.

No injuries were reported related to the incident, Lyons said.
