Rockets soccer teams win district victories

The Neshoba Central girls soccer team remained undefeated in region play as they defeated Cleveland Central 6-0 last Friday.

The Lady Rockets then picked up a non-district 3-0 victory over Morton on Saturday.

Scoring for the Lady Rockets in their game with Cleveland were Emily Berry, Erica Copeland, Sydney Nickey, Riley Knight, Allie Horn and Ella Jai Elliot. Horn was credited with two assists and Elliot had one.

In their game with Morton, Mason Daniels, Allie Horn and Emily Berry all had one goal.

The Neshoba Central boys swept their two games, beating Cleveland 8-0 and Morton 2-0.

In the Rockets’ match with Cleveland, Addison Dees scored three goals while Thomas Saunders and Luke Wilborn both added two goals. Hayden Burrage scored one goal. Burrage had three assists.

In their game with Morton, Burrage and Taylor Christian Collins scored Neshoba Central’s two goals.

The Rockets now stand at 3-1 in the district and 7-8-1 overall.

Neshoba Central hosts Canton on Friday in a key region matchup.
