Funeral service for Rev. Lamar Day was at 11 AM Thursday, September 21, 2023, at John E. Stephens Chapel. Interment in Longino Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel was in charge.

Rev. Day, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Neshoba Nursing Home. He lived in Neshoba County most of his life and was a member of Friendship Assembly of God Church.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Vowell Day; parents, Claud Day and Mattie Smith Day; sons, Earl Lamar, Charles Leon, Danny Wayne, Donald G, and Ronald R. Day; stepdaughter, Ann Vowell Long; sisters, Glenda King, Edith Todd, Lanell Seales; brother, Robert Day.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Walker; stepdaughters, Maxine Vowell Sullivan, Mary (Bill) Zieminick, Priscilla Sanders; sons, Ricky (Shirley) Day, Dennis (Lisa) Day, Michael (Tricia) Day; stepsons, Carl (Doris) Vowell, Jimmy (Marsha) Vowell; brother, Joel (Audrey) Day; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
