A serial burglar was arrested again and charged with an auto burglary on Forest Park Circle Friday night.

The man, Norman Bufkin, 58, was arrested and charged with auto burglary, according to Police Chief Eric Lyons.

Officers responded to the Forest Park area to a report that a vehicle had been broken into.

Using surveillance footage provided by the homeowner, officers saw a male subject open the doors of two vehicles in the driveway and rummage through them, taking items before fleeing on foot.

Officers observed the video and identified the male suspect as Bufkin.

Bufkin was picked up by Philadelphia Police later that night near Hillcrest Apartments, 105 St Francis Drive, charged with the burglary and transported to jail.

The apartments are owned by Ballard & Hudspeth Apts., land records show, a limited partnership based out of Lousiville.

Lyons said Bufkin has several burglary convictions from previous arrests in the same neighborhood and Woodland Hills.

“Residents are encouraged to check their vehicles and surveillance cameras, especially in those areas for possible thefts related to this incident and individual,” Lyons said.
