Pharmacy appears to be closed

Brown’s Discount Drugs has suddenly closed and no one is answering the telephone.

Law enforcement officials say they are not involved with the closure and the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy wasn’t returning calls to the Democrat.

Brown’s Discount Drugs, 584 Main Street, was closed Tuesday, several customers were reporting on Facebook.

“Brown's Pharmacy is closed. They advised me they can transfer regular meds to your pharmacy of choice but anything controlled must go back to your doctor,” one post early this week said.

Democrat reporters attempted to reach the pharmacy by telephone multiple times on Tuesday but calls went unanswered.

Attempts to reach Brad Hammons, the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy compliance agent who handles Neshoba County, have gone unreturned.

The mission of the Board of Pharmacy is to protect and promote the health of Mississippi citizens by regulating and controlling the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of prescription drugs and devices, according to the state government agency’s website.
