Funeral services was held for Percy Miller on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Davey Wilkinson and Rev. Mitchell McDonald officiating.  Burial followed in Cooks Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.  Visitation was held Thursday, February 10, 2022, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Miller, 78, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Rush Hospital in Meridian.

A native of Attala County, he was a graduate of Vaiden High School in 1961 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern in 1965.  He began coaching with Quitman High School and was employed with various other schools during his thirty years career.  He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and was an avid Ole Miss fan.  Mr. Miller was a member of Cooks Chapel United Methodist Church.  

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Miller of Philadelphia; three sons, John Miller of Philadelphia, Scott Miller (Kristin) of Gulfport, Jason Miller (Lindsay) of Columbus; six grandchildren, Melissa, Allie, Meg, Easton, Serenity, and Isabella.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Ty; parents, Leroy and Mary Lean Miller; and sister, Sarah Miller. 

Pallbearers are T. J. Madison, Brian Roundtree, Shon Kirkland, Rich Miller, James Dill, and Jim Sisson.
