Pair arrested on outstanding warrants, drug charges after stop

Two men were arrested on drug charges  last week after a deputy discovered they had outstanding warrants during a traffic stop in Neshoba County.

The traffic stop on June 6, at about 1:45 a.m., involved a Honda Accord on Road 147 near the intersection of Road 2606 near Hope.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said the driver had been spotted by a deputy swerving in the middle of the road.

After speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed the man was nervous and fidgety, which raised suspicions, Clark said.

The driver, identified as Keith Richard Riggen, 31, of Philadelphia, had a warrant for contempt of court. The passenger, Cameron Blake Allen, 27, of Heidelberg, had a warrant for DUI, Clark said.

Clark said Allen also had additional warrants in Leake County.

While securing the vehicle, the deputy spotted a dark-colored zip-up bag on the passenger seat containing a glass pipe with white residue.

A further look at the car’s center console revealed a small baggie of what appeared to be methamphetamine hidden in the cigarette lighter/auxiliary port, Clark said.

Both men admitted being aware of the bag containing the pipe and methamphetamine, according to a deputy.

The men were arrested and transported to the Neshoba County Jail on their warrants and were booked on additional felony drug charges.

Riggen was charged with contempt of court, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,600.

Allen was charged with driving under the influence, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $12,100.
