Mars Hill Church of God in Christ celebration

Mars Hill Church of God in Christ will be celebrating 100 years of ministry with a three-day Centennial Celebration, July 21 - 23. Friday Night’s Service will be our “Back Home’ Praise and Worship Service starting at 7:00 p.m.  

 The guest speaker will be Elder Alphonso Wilson, Pastor of Paradise Church of God in Christ, Meridian, MS. Our Centennial Family Day will be Saturday, July 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Food and a variety of games will be provided. 

Our Centennial Worship Celebration Services will be Sunday, July 23, with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bishop Daniel T. Littleton, Jurisdictional Prelate, Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ.

Fair exhibit signup

 Come by the MSU Extension Service-Neshoba County office and pick up your entry forms, entry tags and exhibitor number for the Neshoba County Fair Exhibit Hall. Youth ages 8-18 can enter items in the categories of fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, food nutrition, posters, and arts and crafts. Adult categories include fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, and cultural arts. The deadline to pick up your entry forms, tags and exhibitor number is Monday, July 11. Call 601-656-4011 or come by the Extension Service office in the Neshoba County Coliseum for more information.

Church homecoming

Farmer’s  Market

  Neshoba County Farmers Market will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 a.m. and every first and fourth Saturday from 7-12 noon at the Farm Bureau Office on Hwy 16. The Market will be held every second and third Saturday from 7-12 noon at the Depot. 

 There will be local produce, from tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, corn, green beans, and peppers to dairy goat products and canned goods provided by local vendors. Other vegetables and crafts may also be available throughout the market season. For those interested in becoming a vendor, the cost is $20 per vending day OR $100 for the entire season.

Stuff the Bus

 United Way of East Mississippi's Stuff the Bus! June 29th, 9 AM - 3 PM at The Depot. Please bring donations of school supplies, new or gently used uniforms, and/or monetary donations. For more information, call 601-693-2732.

Family reunion

 Watkins Family Reunion — The relatives of Luther and Della Watkins will have a family reunion on July 8th at the Macedonia Church on Highway 19 North beginning at 10:30AM. Bring a dish and come join us for lunch and visiting.

Benefit

   Benefit for Mary Jane Copeland at Northside Pentecostal Church. Date: July 8, starting at 6 AM - 12 PM, there will be a yard sale. Then at 1 PM, we will have an auction. A few items that will be auctioned off will include Griffis's Ford oil change, a car wash, and a vacuum. The Added Touch, A&J Photography, and dinner coupons from many of our local restaurants, along with several businesses that have donated.

Gray reunion

 The Gray reunion (descendants of Charles and Emma Gray) will be held at the Neshoba County Coliseum on July 9, 2023. It will start at 10 AM. Potluck lunch will be at noon. Bring your family and enjoy the fellowship. See you there.

Church revival

 Revival at Mount Olive Baptist Church at House. July 9-12. Speaker Ryan Gillis. Sunday service begins at 10:45 AM. Sunday evening service begins at 5 PM. Monday-Wednesday services begin at 6:30 PM.
